About Katie Williams

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

-Margaret Mead

I’m Katie Williams, and I’ve had the honor of serving as a Farr West City Councilmember since 2022. I’m running for re-election because I believe deeply in the future of our community and the people who call it home.

I’m a proud Utah State University Aggie, where I earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Journalism & Communications (emphasis in Public Relations) and Sociology. Today, I work as a Public Engagement Lead at Avenue Consultants, helping connect the public to important infrastructure projects and decisions.

Public service is at the heart of who I am. Since being elected to the Farr West City Council, I’ve worked to represent residents with transparency, accountability, and heart. I also serve as a Trustee for the Weber Mosquito Abatement District, Chair the Farr West Parks and Active Transportation Committees, and am a member of the Utah Chapter of Women in Transportation (WTS).

At home, I’m mom to three amazing boys—Beau (11), and identical twins Luke and Benson (8). My husband Darren and I have been married for 17 years, and most days you can find us at the ice rink, cheering on our boys as they play for the Weber County Jr. Mustangs. Outside of hockey, I love tending my vegetable garden, camping, paddleboarding, biking, and reading.

I first decided to run for City Council after learning that 47 of 255 city councils in Utah were made up entirely of men. I realized that the decisions being made in my community lacked perspectives like mine, and that representation truly matters. Utah has long lagged behind the nation in women’s political leadership, and I believe women bring critical insights and lived experiences that strengthen our communities. Whether the issue is getting kids to school safely, balancing the budget, or simply deciding what surface to install at a new playground, women’s voices deserve to be heard.

I’m proud to use my voice to represent Farr West—and with your support, I’ll continue working to make sure every voice in our city has a place at the table.
